The grand final of Brisbane's premier shred competition - "So You Think You Can Shred" - was held on Thursday night at Crowbar in Fortitude Valley. What a night it was! We witnessed four extremely talented guitarists fighting it out to be Brisbane's greatest shredder.
The competition was extremely close, with scores out of 30, only 2 points separated the field after the first round of judging. Unfortunately this meant that the very talented Jarred Berriman & Joseph Rabjohns didn't make it through to the top two shred-out. This honour belonged to purist shredder Jeremy Fied, and the winner of the first of the final two rounds (by only half a point) with his delightful tones, Liam Morton.
The Grand final round saw the players step up a notch to deliver a thrilling finale featuring everything from shred flamenco, to 90's TV show themes. It was incredible! It was a true battle , and both players deserve a massive round of applause, but there can only be one winner, and on the night that was Jeremy Fied, who took out the major prizes including the Blackstar Limited Edition Snakeskin HT-1 Metal Head and Cab.
A massive congratulations to all the final contenders, as they all proved that any one of them had the ability to tale out the competition. Biggest congrats to Jeremy, the winner of "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN SHRED" 2017!
